We are ecstatic to announce that PPA is sending two teams to compete at National Championships: the 15u Green Hoops Team and 2010 Green Girls Soccer Team. This milestone highlights the remarkable success of our club and showcases the talent, dedication, and hard work of our players, coaches, and staff.
PPA Basketball Team Selected for Puma NXT National Circuit
Our 15u basketball team has achieved an extraordinary feat by being selected for the prestigious Puma NXT National Circuit. Out of 140 teams, our team ranked as high as 10th and finished in the top 25 of the circuit. With an impressive 13 wins throughout the season, they have faced some of the best teams from across North America, including competitors from Canada, Florida, Texas, New York, and Iowa.
Lane Mahan, a rising sophomore, has gained significant scouting attention at multiple Puma events and is poised to become a breakout player in the DMV next year. This weekend, the team will compete in the Puma NXT Nationals at the Kinetic Sports Complex in Omaha, Nebraska. They will be up against top-tier competition with a chance to advance and win a national championship.
Coach David Adams, in his first year leading the team, has done an exceptional job. His focus on dedication and commitment has fostered a strong team bond heading into this pivotal weekend.
PPA Soccer Team Advances to USYS Nationals
Our 2010 girls' soccer team has also had an incredible year, winning the Maryland State Cup and advancing to the finals of the USYS Eastern Regionals. Their performance at Regionals was enough to send them to the USYS Nationals at the ESPN World Wide Center of Sports at Disney World.
This team has been on fire this year, winning the Jefferson Cup and finishing in 1st place in the South Atlantic Premier 1 League. Coached by Clare Roche and assisted by Jane Wallis, both former GW Women's Soccer Players, the team has demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork, and determination.
A Message from PPA President Mike Worden
"We are immensely proud of these teams and their accomplishments. There are players on these teams who have been with PPA since they were 6 or 7 years old, starting in our Development Program, even some in our Tots program at ages 3 & 4! Seeing these teams and players rising to the highest competitive levels in the country is a testament to our grassroots approach to programming, and our focus on providing great coaching."
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our players, coaches, and staff for their hard work and dedication. This incredible achievement is a testament to the strength and unity of our PPA family. We look forward to cheering on our teams as they compete for national titles. Go PPA!
