Three PPA Premier Soccer teams are set to compete in the 2025 Jefferson Cup, one of the nation’s most competitive and highly scouted youth tournaments. The 2009 Green Girls, 2010 Green Girls, and 2010 Green Boys teams will take the field in the upcoming showcase weekends.
PPA has a strong history at the Jefferson Cup, having participated in the Boys and Girls Weekends in recent years, including this year's events on March 8 (Boys) and March 15 (Girls), where our younger age groups (U9-U14, 2016-2011 teams) represented PPA at a high level. Those weekends provide a strong developmental experience for younger players within PPA’s Premier Program. Now, our older teams will step into the Showcase format, where the stakes are higher and the competition serves as a pathway to college recruitment and high-level club opportunities.
Competing Against the Best
Hosted by the Richmond Strikers, the Jefferson Cup has been one of the nation’s premier youth soccer tournaments for over 40 years. It attracts top-ranked club programs from ECNL, MLS NEXT, Girls Academy, and National League platforms, making it a proving ground for the country’s most competitive teams.
For PPA Premier Soccer, competing at this level offers an invaluable experience for players looking to take their game to the next level—whether that’s within elite club soccer, high school programs, or the college recruitment pipeline.
“The Jefferson Cup is where teams prove themselves,” says Annie, Director of Premier Soccer. “Our players have trained at an elite level, and this is their chance to compete on one of the biggest youth soccer stages in the country.”
PPA Premier Soccer: A Legacy of Excellence
PPA’s Premier Program has grown into one of the top competitive soccer programs in the DMV, with teams consistently competing at high-level showcases and state championships. Last year, all three of PPA’s Jefferson Cup-bound teams—2009 Green Girls, 2010 Green Girls, and 2010 Green Boys—won the Maryland State Cup, marking a historic milestone for the program.
This year’s Jefferson Cup-bound teams are no exception.

Girls Showcase (March 21-23)
2009 Green & 2010 Green – Maryland State Cup champions and top-ranked teams entering one of the strongest girls’ showcases in the country.
Boys Showcase (March 28-30)
2010 Green – A team that has consistently been among the top in the region, set to face elite club competition on the national stage.
Competing at the Jefferson Cup is another step in PPA’s mission to provide elite-level opportunities for its players.
