Our Development Leagues offer a flexible, family-friendly approach to youth sports, aiming to give every player and parent the best possible experience.

What is the PPA Development League?
The PPA Development Leagues are the leading Youth Soccer and Basketball Leagues in the DC and Montgomery County, MD region. Open to players of all levels from Kindergarten through 8th grade, the "Dev" leagues are considered premium recreational leagues designed to balance fun, skill development, and good competition. Parents can register their own teams and choose to volunteer coach or get a professional coach assigned. With over 250 teams who participate each season, the Development Leagues are the best place for players to play on a team with classmates & friends. Here's what else you can expect from the Development Program:
Grade Based Soccer and Basketball Leagues: Players play on teams based on their grade, and play against other grade based teams.
Local Practices and Games: Parent Managers can schedule a team practice near their school, making it easy for families to participate.
8 Week Season: Each week of the season teams practice once a week, and play games on the weekends.
Spirit Week: One weekend during the season season, we'll pair teams up against their local rival, ask parents to bring signs and whistles, and get extra hype for spirit week games.
End of Season Tournament: All leagues for grades 2 and up include an exciting end-of-season tournament to crown a champion, adding an element of competitive fun to the season.
*NEW* Custom Jerseys: This fall we're giving offering every team in our league custom jerseys featuring the team name and personalization options to add player names on the back.
Fall Season Details
Season Dates: September 16 to November 10.
Registration Dates: Priority registration opens on June 6, and general registration starts on June 18.
Pricing: Program costs range from $150 to $495, depending on the age group and coaching preference.
How do I Register?
Forming a Team: Parents can form their own teams and invite friends to join. We give $100 back to parent organizers.
Joining a Team: Players who are invited to join a team will get a code from the team manager to register. Otherwise, players can also can register as free agents, and a PPA Director will place your player on a team in their age group.
