Our PPA Premier Hoops teams had a weekend to remember at the Charm City Championships, bringing home multiple titles and showcasing the talent, resilience, and teamwork that define our program. From thrilling comebacks to dominant wins, our players and coaches delivered standout performances that made us incredibly proud. Here’s how each of our winning teams took home the hardware:
5th Grade Green Boys Bring Home the Charm City Championship!
Our 5th Grade Green Boys, led by Coach Marty, were unstoppable with a perfect 2-0 record on the day. They clinched the championship with an impressive 62-38 victory over Drave, playing with focus and teamwork that made every player a Championship MVP in Coach Marty’s eyes. Their cohesion and energy were on full display, setting the bar high for the day!
7th Grade Green Girls Bounce Back with Resilience!
Facing an 0-2 start in pool play, the 7th Grade Green Girls, under Coach Ken’s guidance, mounted an extraordinary comeback in the semifinals and then the championship game. On Sunday, they showcased exactly what “any given Sunday” means, with each player rallying to turn things around. Off the bench, Scarlett stepped up as the championship Player of the Game, leading in scoring, protecting the ball, and delivering stellar two-way play. Her clutch performance was pivotal in securing the victory.
Big Weekend for 8th Grade Green Girls
The 8th Grade Green Girls, coached by Coach Michael, topped off the weekend with a Flames League Championship win. This team’s hard work throughout the season shone brightly, and they brought it all together for the title. Margaret Cooke’s efforts on both ends of the court earned her the tournament MVP, adding to this special victory.
These Premier Hoops teams have shown us what dedication and teamwork can achieve. Congratulations to all the players and coaches—this weekend’s victories are well-earned and a testament to the power of perseverance. Go PPA!
